Shame about the little car, the cam belt snapped and caused a bit of damage, garage quoted £500 so she has to go unfortunately.

centos are a non interferance engine so your belt goes it wont hit valve to piston unless its skimmed past the max

simply new belt and tensioner, timed up and off you go

899s have a timing chain so i assume yours is a 1108

Talking to the daughter it seems the head gasket went (so they told her), though she was losing a lot of water. Not really up on the mechanics of cars. There is no persuading her now though, she's made up her mind to get rid. We have had loads of fun with the old cheese, had it 12 years, it was my wifes and then the daughter had it. The wife has a Sciento sporting abarth now and loves the bloody thing.

swap the wheels and sell the standard abarths.... those wheels are worth keeping
