right i am aware that i should be going for 7 inch wheels BUT I wondering if it would be much trouble to have 7 1/2 or maybe 8, 8 1/2???????

cant i just have narrower tyres???
roll the arches???
spacers on the wheels???

ps my car is lowered 30ml

You'll get away with 7 1/2 wide wheels, but no wider otherwise you'll not be able to get any steering lock on and you won't be able to turn the car.

17x8's are fine

mine are 17x8's and they are absolutely fine no problem with steering lock or anything....they look nice as well being wider cos they come right near to the edge of the arches in line with the rest of the body!!

8 inches!!!!

my car is the 1.2 and was NOT lowered. I was going to lower it but before i investigated lowering it i decided to put the car up for sale. (want a something MUCH faster).

Not sure if they were too wide for lowering....BUT even if they were going to be too wide i was looking into the possibility of flaring the arches a little to accomodate them properly??? and also to make the car look a little wider. i have a picture somewhere of a bravo with some 9 inch wheels on if i remember correctly.

no lowering = no problem
lowered = not sure
