Over the weekend, it seems that a few more of our users have been sipping the **** juice and posting some utter ****** on here. This includes many antagonistic posts, all trying to get the last word in on some pathetic crusade against other forum users.

All this achieves is a severely clogged up forum and a lot of bad feeling, plus a copious amount of mails in my inbox.

Can this please stop right now.

I am not going to name names as I believe we are beyond that, though many of you are trying to prove me wrong on that count. Where necessary, I have contacted individuals privately and hope that it will cause these petty squabbles and pathetic posts to stop. I have lost count of the amount of posts I have deleted or locked this morning, but will continue this action all the while people make these idiotic posts.

Any continuation of this stupid behaviour will result in more stricter rules being applied and enforced.

Finally, do not reply to this post with any "tale telling" posts. If anyone has a particular problem, contact me in private via email or Messenger. My FIATBOO address is currently inaccesible so use robpuricelli "at" hotmail "dot" com.

i have one question mate...And take this as a discussion not trying to stir up stuff.

With regards to stricter rules applied and enforced.how?

this is an open forum, and basically as it happens already you can post Anon and not get any backlash!!!

you can ban ip address, then someone can login via proxy!!!

this has to be one of the strong issues for changing the forum?

anyways thats for wimmy and mods to decide not me.

you must be able to backup what you stated?

i for one love(maybe wrong exspression)the site, and probably cause problems just as much as the next...but besides banning IP you have no other powers from stopping people post c r a p

i know because i used to be admin on a well known torrent site. we had the same problems. nothing much you can do!

The problem with banning IP address's is that most internet providers do not issue static ip's so the person you are trying to ban can come back in a few days time anyway. Also, you could end up banning more than one person so it would only be a tempory solution.

Still say this site could do with a few more mods. No affence but they are like buses. You either never see them or 3 turn up at once.
 
Banning IP's and manually moderating posts is about our limits on this particular forum structure, yes, but who knows what we might decide to implement in the future. Hopefully it won't come to that and we can carry on, business as usual.

Anyway, this debate has been had many times. Let's leave it there.

its been said before and i will say it again, the format of this site needs to change it needs to be layed out in a more organised fashion rather than the big long listing of posts, its uneffiecint and untidy.....the obvious thing to do it require the user to register before posting(also mentioned before) this will be enough to deter the simple noobs who otherwise can simply load a page and post ******

How's this going to stop abusive posting? As far as I remember it was people with accounts (mainly non-BOO members I must add) who were squabbling.

What's to stop me posting a load of rubbish in this fancy forum you suggest?

I wouldn't really call this site inefficient, Rob only had to look down 1 list of post instead of 12 to do his job.

It may be untidy but I feel it does it's job just aswell, if not better than other sites.

We've had this discussion before as you've said - I think Roberto will have to lock this one soon too.

The forum layout is just fine!!!

It just means everyone who uses this forum needs to be a little more conciderate and mature.



Changing the forum to control people who say nasty things isn't adventagous to the forum.....


The forum will change to a format that best suites it's members & at the moment, it's current format does just that!!



Another point is... nobody really has the time to spend moderating and updating the current forum.... it's turning into a full, unpaid, full time job these days!


Just try and get along with eachother.... it's only because u can hide behind text that you start to insult eachother!!!


You don't see any of the members who go to meets and who actually know by face & name the member start upsetting eachother!!!!!!!!



common guys... up-to-date every1 has managed to sort things out and keep this a friendly place to chat...... don't spoil it now after all this time.

I thought that was the whole point of being a Mod. You don't do it to get paid, you do it because you love the forum and want it to run smoothly and happly for every user that come to it.

You say nobody has time to spend moderating it, but that was exactly my point, they need more mods to help run the place and keep the place running smooth and happy.
 
I agree with Roberto`s main post lets talk about the things we love our cars and stuff...and be helpful for any fixes for them with each other ..amen.

there shouldn't be a need for any mods on here!!!
