Alfa handle problems, does anyone else suffer this?

ok with the cold weather upon us, im finding im going out on a morning and having to keep a spare bottle of de-icer in the house so i can de-ice my handles and lock, as they freeze badly and i just cant get into the car!!

the other morning i was late and had to enter the car via the boot as i didnt have time to mess about lol

anyone else suffer this or any recomendations?

lmao, mate i would do anything for a garage! i would have such a nice car, but sadly having a upstairs flat, i cant have one

i guess the other option is a house with a garage but then were looking at 150k+ which just to save the hassel of frozen door handles and locks (its mainly the frozen locks that stop me opening the car) doesnt seem quite worth it,

nope i have no problems with the handles attached to my alfa just the rest of it... lol

cant you get one of those blade things that heat up, you just push it into the lock barrel and it de ices it, plus alos with it using heat it should get rid of any water residue in there hopefully preventing it from happening too often

feck knows if theres good ones or not mate, my mum got one for my dad years ago, and it was only recently he got rid, my step son got hold of it a dribbled into it

ill have a think see if i can come up with a name, but just hunt around on ebay for de icers, its like a blade that comes out of a lil plastic box, its heated then melst the ice

thats great mate i cant access ebay at work but il have a look when i get home,

and yeh ive been tempted, tbh but seen as my last one (being a concept clifford 900 or summit like that cost me 600quid fitted!!

and im not to keen on paying that sort of money really as if i was to get one id go for a cat one so i could lower my insurance also, as my last alarm nearly halfed it!!

you have remote central locking!!

Go buy 1 of them cheap £30 maplin alarms and fit it just how the old 1 is fitted.


Red to battery
Black to earth
Green to central locking box

yeh the remote seems to only disactivate the alarm and not open the doors for some reason :S also it wont attach to a key fob, but il have a look round for a cheap cat 1 alarm me thinks and il def give one of them heat key things a try also
