Hi,

I've had my Multipla since July 2007 and I'm very happy with it. I've had to replace the master & slave cylinders which cost £300 for both.

When I got my Multipla I was given 2 blue keys, nothing fobs or anything.

When I opened the boot at Tesco this evening I got a blast of siren and the indicators all lit up. Where did that come from? It would appear I have an alarm of unknown description.

The car is a 2000 W Reg Petrol model. I've never seen any flashing led's etc.

Obviously I'm missing something because all the keys do is lock the car.

I'd like to get it operational if possible. I assume this means a trip to a Fiat dealer. Any advice welcome.

hi ,1st you need to know if it is a factory fit alarm,or after market.
Above the radio, you have a slotted coin holder,if it has a red LED bulb, then it is factory fit, also the siren should sound from the passenger front wheel arch area.If this is the case you need a key with fob. Then take it to fiat to get it coded in.If not sure take it to fiat and they will check if its factory fit.best to get a second hand key with fob and get that coded in,fiat will get the code for your alarm,as the alarm may be disconnected for a reason,[faulty].But you will still be able to lock/unlock the car using the remote central locking on the button. But cant use the key blade to open or start the car,if its a 2nd hand key.

if its after market,disconnect it.
Hope this helps. mp................................
