Anyone know how to bypass the alarm system on a HGT. Is there a switch?

(Tried to use both blue keys this morning and neither would operate the central locking/alarm. Didn't want to unlock the car manually because that would trip the alarm. )

alarm system problems

it says in my mayes 1.8 HLX manual that you need you 4 digit code card and what you do is press the gas pedal and hold it down for 8 seconds then take you foot off the fuel injector warning lamp on the dash will flash you must press the gas pedal down and hold it for 4 seconds after the fuel injector warning lamp has flashed the correct number of times which has the same 1st number on your code card you must repete this process for each number on the code card after the last number has been entered the engine should start hope that helps and that you understand let me know how you got on dan the man

key

On my marea, there is a switch under a panel on the dash, operated by a small key you should have got with the car. It's a triangular panel to the right and down from the steering wheel, held on by 3 screws.

You will obviously need to open the car manually first which ,means setting the alarm off and then quickly undoing the panel and using the small key to switch it off.

Thats the marea which i presume is the same as yours

Good luck
