Alarm problems

Ive just got my bravo and this morning when i went out to go out, it wouldn't open, the central locking wouldn't open and the alarm wouldn't de-activate! I can open the door with the key but i cant get the alarm off so as soon as i opened the door the alarm goes off! I was gettin my new stereo fitted so had no choice but to disconnect the battery to stop the alarm. My problem now is that as soon as i re-connect the battery the alarm will go back off again, ive tried changing the battery in the key but it made no difference. The LED on the key comes on when pressed. Luckily i still have my corsa to use but im gutted, any ideas any1?

mine was doing that, and it took me 15 mins to get into my own car. the alarm wouldn't respond to the remote. i used the key, let the alarm start (no choice) then opened the bonnett, and connected another battery i know works and was charged. problem solved. although it did take a couple of mins till it responded still. The thing is even though the battery isnt connected the alarm is still making beeping noises every minute or so, it'll beep then makin clicking sounds, i didnt want to re-connect it cos it was a bit late for the alarm to be goin off, dont thin the neighbours would've been happy, im just a bit worried about what to do, if i re-connect will the alarm go off again? I suppose i'll just need to try 2moro and find out. Hopefully it'l right itself! Cheers

it probably will go off initially, yes. min did and ignored me for a few mins after reconnecting the battery. i think its designed that way on purpose. it could be a low battery you have. also, the alarm will have its own backup battery, which is why it still bleeps at you

Is it a Fiat alarm or an aftermarket alarm?
