Technical Airbag failure warning

Hello everyone, just registered after browsing for a few weeks. Didnt want to post a problem as my first post, but here goes:
Bought a 1.4 punto dynamic 06 in feb so still under warranty(hopefully) but dealer from where bought sold a 3 month warranty anyway.
Other morning out of blue started car and noticed "airbag failure see handbook" flash up and then the dash all dead with various lights illuminated, no indicators working, did start and drove ok. got to work and then tried turning ignition without starting to see if this trick(works on other cars)would reset the "fault". at the time didnt work. Finished work, car ok everything working as normal. So to me sounds an intermittent fault and one what i had on a vauxhall vectra!! Does anyone have any knowledge of this and how to rectify.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them to check and see if the body computer software needs reprogramming if they are a fiat dealer they can check this

there will be an error code logged as said above take it back to the stealers and get it sorted...only probably needs to go on Fiat Diag

So a software update will cure the fault? Im sceptical, as said previous when had the vectra i was promised a software update would cure the problem. Luckily at no cost to me it had a new ecu, and still continued with the fault, apparently who had the car after me was getting fleeced for another ecu until test drive with a dealer "technician" and the same thing happened and the tech then said "oh it must be a terminal block/connector" £30, obviously the £500 for a new ecu was refunded!!!

Just read and thanks. Another minor worry was there as well and that was excessive radiator temp on ignition so hopefully 2 faults will be cured.

have you to0ok the standard head unit out becoz my air bag lyk came on when a took my head unit out take it to a dealer and they will reset it if it keeps happinging they will replace all the sensers

Excess rad temp can also be cured by a reprog
I have done them and it works fine on both counts.

Thats good to hear!! As said in previous post regarding the vectra.
