Could someone advise as to the location please. 2004 1108cc Active if its spec specific.

Would the airbag ecu being disconnected cause a lack of airbag warning light to illuminate when car is first started.

We get the 'pass airbag off' light flash for a few seconds, but thats the only one from the airbag system, where as in my Stilo I get the above light, and a general airbag warning light for about 4 sec.

What do other members get?

Jon.

Any idea what's likly to have caused this then?

I know that the dash and clocks in Panda's are LED unit's, so it's not as though the bulb has been removed, and the unit I know hasn't been tampered with, so unless its a fault with the display which isn't impossible, but I doubt, I don't know what the cause could be.

Thanks for that Phil. So its around the steering column then under the steering shroud

LOL.

First rule of using Eper- Never believe a part is located where Eper says it is.

Airbag ECU connectors don't fall out easily. If it's not communicating, it could be a simple blown fuse, or an ECU failure (though I'd expect neither airbag lamp to work if either were the case).

A simple Examiner check would test communication, plus perform active diagnosis on the warning lamp to ensure the cluster is ok.

Ah, but this be a stolen and recovered Panda subjected to quite a beating when pinched (n)

Steering shroud was ripped off from what I can tell (mounts snapped etc) so wouldn't surprise me, but what more can I expect for £1500 for a car that at the time was under 5 years old, only 39k on the clock and with a CD player (active spec don't forget) :p

Airbags are dangerous things, thats why we tell people not to muck about with them and take them to a dealer.

As for the picture, it is quite clear where it is, as 99% of airbag ecus are placed in the same position. Also as a clue to find where electrcal items are, check the component location section in the electrical section of the manual.

The view in the pic is from the drivers side, facing under the centre cowling, you can see the heater controls and the radio pod, I aint telling you where it is but hopefully you can figure it out for yourself. Dont kill yourself testing things though, if you do, dont come running to me:D

I'm fully aware of how dangerous they are, and thank you for the concern, but I don't plan on mucking about with it so to speak. I only want to check that everything is connected properly (y)

Thanks for the hint.

Jon.
