Technical air con relay compressor won't engage

Done a diy job..previous owner said the rad was holed..but strangely enough when I hooked the kit up it had pressure in there...
Just thought I'd give it a go..
Not gonna bother spending mega cash on the air con as I'm really not too fussed.

Just a thought. There may be nothing wrong at all as the air con doesn't operate under about 6 degrees so if you've tried it on a cooler day that'll be why.

Or you may just have no pressure, the gas can come back out once refilled if there's a leak but while you're refilling it seems to pressurise ok if you see what I mean :)

I have the same problem, the light comes on but the air con doesnt engage, i tried it when the temp was 20 deg and it still didnt kick in. Is there actually a relay for it?

I have the same problem...light comes on but compressor doesnt engage, i thought it was the rad fan resistor as it had dissolved into nothing but still no joy, I need to check wiring thoroughly, I think the compressor relay is in the engine bay, small black one closest to bulkhead, thats what i can make out from autodata.

Hi
I had the same issue. Light came on but no airco. I was ready to go to Kwik fit but came across the post on cigarette lighter fuse. I checked into this as my lighter was also not working.
Changed F9 and lighter socket had power again. I also then checked the airco again. Heard a soft clunk and hey cool air!:). F9 is also for the compressor. I now have no need to go the the garage and cool air for the summer!.
If all is well I have attached some info I found.
