Hi all, I'm new to owning a Multipla never mind a vehicle with aircon.
It's warm today and so I thought I'd try pressing that magical switch.
Nothing happens!
The light comes on but I did expect some engine revs change or a clunk or something. And I did expect some air cooling, but no!!!!!!!!!
This is the only vehicle I've not had a Haynes manual for so I'm feeling stranded.
Anyone know how it works and what to check to see what I can do before carting it off to a local stealer..... I mean dealer lol
Thanks.

It is aircon you have and not the re circulation button your hitting.

Sounds like compressor isn't engauging. Either because its broke, or the system need gassing.

When was it last used? Do you use it for atleast 5min a week as recomended?

Jon.

Is there any way I can test the compressor's working/engaging before I have to hand it over to an engineer then? I'm good with the electrics side of things so could test that side of things.
I have no clue when it was last used as I've only recently got the car in the last few weeks and not tried it till now.
It's not sounding good for this though is it? Is this a common problem? :(

Just an update.
I've spent all day looking for info. Sounds like my compressor isn't coming in because the pressure switch isn't activating the relay which means the pressure's low (although need to test the circuit tomorrow just to make sure).
So I guess that means it needs re-gassing.
Can a normal refrigerator engineer do this does anyone know?

Happy ending!
It was low pressure.
Took it to Kwik Fit and they've drained, cleaned, recharged and checked for leaks. Works wonderful now (y)

Can I ask how much Kwik Fit charged? I think mine needs doing too.

Sure. It was £45 all in (that's including VAT etc)
I didn't think this was bad at all to say that it was done very thoroughly and efficiently with the correct amounts of gas and oil (which you get on a print out from the machine they use)
They drain, clean and refill the system. Then check for leaks and run the system up.
They recommended running the system now and again in short burst through winter also to keep the compressor lubricated and said it is best to re gas about every two years.
£45 every two years.....cheap I think for a fully operational air con. (y)
