here we go again, the car was driven with the airbag removed, the airbag was then replaced,the car still thinks the airbag is faulty(removed) I want to know if I can clear the fault code without having to connect a diagnostic
OK, try this. Not sure if the air bag has it's own ECU, but will cost you nowt. Disconnect the negative battery terminal for 30 mins, reconnect, start motor. This should cause (at least) the main ECU to reset.
If only it were that simple, the airbag system has its own ecu that does not clear when resetting the engine ecu,can anyone who is familiar with the system help please
Needs cleared by examiner,most 'off the shelf' code readers will not be able to communicate with airbag ecu,assuming it is the electronic & not mechanical airbag system you have.
