Suzuki Alto HA36V AGS actuator swap – CFC400S.01 vs CFC400I.01 compatibility?
I’m working on a 2019 Suzuki Alto HA36V with the Magneti Marelli AGS/AMT system.
Original actuator/controller:
Replacement actuator/controller:
The only visible difference on the labels appears to be S.01 vs I.01.
Before the swap:
After installing the I.01 unit:
My questions:
Any experience with Suzuki Alto AGS or Magneti Marelli CFC400 units would be greatly appreciated.
I’m working on a 2019 Suzuki Alto HA36V with the Magneti Marelli AGS/AMT system.
Original actuator/controller:
- CFC 400S.01
- Magneti Marelli
- 076ME
- 12V
Replacement actuator/controller:
- CFC 400I.01
- Magneti Marelli
- 076ME
- 12V
The only visible difference on the labels appears to be S.01 vs I.01.
Before the swap:
- Dash displayed N
- Engine started normally
- Vehicle would not move
After installing the I.01 unit:
- Dash displays 3
- Scan tool also shows gear 3
- Engine will not start
- AGS learning/initialization fails
My questions:
- Has anyone successfully swapped a CFC400I.01 into a vehicle originally equipped with CFC400S.01?
- Are S.01 and I.01 different software/calibration versions or completely different applications?
- Could an incompatible unit cause the transmission to be detected as being stuck in 3rd gear?
- Is it more likely that the replacement unit is incompatible, faulty, or incorrectly aligned during installation?
- Does anyone have official Marelli or Suzuki documentation showing interchangeability between these two versions?
Any experience with Suzuki Alto AGS or Magneti Marelli CFC400 units would be greatly appreciated.
