Technical Aerial booster

Hi all , I like listening to talk sport radio on medium wave and in my g.punto the signal has a fair amount of interface in my wife's Citroen c1 it's absolutely fine !! I noticed a booster near the aerial under the head lining , has anyone had experience with poor reception ......?? Thanks
