I didnt have any luck in the other forum so ill try here :)

Im currently in the process of building an engine which is being bored out from 70.8 to 72mm, crank being balanced, reground etc. The block is from my mk2 Sporting :D

As i am still sourcing parts (and trying to finance the whole project) this gives me time to ask a few questions:

Whats the best injectors to use? Currently still sourcing a set and I got a set of injectors from a 2.4 Volvo but they wont fit (putting me outta pocket )

What ECU would you recomend? I was thinking megasquirt but im sure there are better ones out there...

Any advice on camshafts? As this is destined to become a turbo'ed lump....

Any advice is appreciated!! (y)

You mention the dreaded word 'finance'.

Doing something different usually means you have to do the groundwork yourself. This is fun, but can be expensive.

My car runs an Omex ECU, but most ECus have the same possibilities. The really difficult, and therefore expensive, bit is setting it all up correctly.

I would be speaking to your local rolling road operator to find out what they are used to. There is no point in getting an ECU that they can't set up.

If you are going turbo you need injectors that will give a good spray pattern at both low and high flow, or possibly multiple injectors depending on what boost you are attempting.

Cheers

All that. The Punto 75 cam is about as wild as you can go on a turbo, short of a one off job. MPI will work better than SPI (and is pretty much a must for aftermarket ECUs). You'll need a one off inlet plenum, so might try matching that to your injectors. It will be very expensive to do well -- I recon you'd maybe save money by using an already turboed engine from Punto/500 Abarth/Mito 155.
