Hi all I have 2010 Fiat 500 pop. My instrument cluster will work perfectly for a few weeks then just black out since doing the following...disconnected battery checked fuses and earth nothing seems to be standing out .... it has now scrambled any ideas or do I need a new instrume the cluster. I'm not car savy can just do basics I did wonder about loose connection but not sure where to start.

Hi Sophie

Don't know if you've visited the 500 Lounge (not a car!) further down the Homepage? Its where specific issues about each model are discussed. If you do a search on there you'll find quite a lot of posts about the issue and suggestions to cure it. Hatch wiring has been mentioned I notice, with a possible short...

I doubt it's a loose connection as from memory if has a flip that secures it in place rather than just pushing in. It could be faulty and you could get a replacement in eBay for about £50 or less. They tend to be more expensive the lower the miles on it as your car will take the mileage from the speedo not the other way round.

I saw a TFT for £26.40 on ebay the other day, bargain!

I git a digital one for peanuts a few months ago. Sitting in a cupboard waiting for a car worthy of putting it in.

I bought a brand new one for £160 and got fiat to fit it for free, along with including it in the cars warranty (long story)!

Have my original say in my garage with 720 miles on the clock in case of failure.

As above long story, but was told that the cost should have been the thick end of £700 plus fitting after the car was handed back.
