Hi
I have a fiat 500 dualogic which has been saying start stop unavailable and doesn't let me go in any gear. Once I got it to drive the garage put in a new sensor two days ago.
I got the same error today and had to get breakdown recovery to fiat as my garage won't assist
My warranty company are saying I'm not covered as it is electrical
Any advice would be appreciated
It's year 2012 and was bought from non fiat dealer
Thanks

If your car isn't going to to gear i think the start stop message is a red hearing as it shouldn't effect that
Sounds more like you have an issue with the dual logic actuator on the gearbox

Hi Thanks
The original garage fitted a sensor which they said was the fault but 2 days later it happened again.
Fiat today said that the sensor was not calibrated after fitting so they will do this tomorrow and test drive it.
Am still concerned as given that I have had it happening intermittently how will I know that it was actually the sensor and not the actuator as you suggest?
The first garage said it was fixed because it did not happen again straight away but it has gone a few days without it occurring before this final instance.
It does seem that the issue is with not actually being able to get in any gear - can this really be a sensor issue with the start stop.

Hi
Thanks to all who responded. The car was "fixed" by my garage then still had the same problems. Fiat garage "fixed" it two weeks ago and this morning it has done the same thing again.
At a loss now - the sensor was replaced then Fiat said it just needed calibrating all of which has cost me £600 in total and it still isn't fixed. Seriously considering trading it in - any suggestions to what the real problem is - I asked the garage all the suggestions given and was told no it just needed calibrating!!!
