I've just recently become the proud owner of a new Grande Punto and am just about to purchase some Autoglym products.

AG Bodywork Shampoo.
AG Super Resin Polish.
AG Extra Gloss Protection.
AG Fast Glass.
AG Clean Wheels.
AG High Definition Wax.

I know i'd need a wash mitt of some sort when shampooing and a leather afterwards. But what else would be needed, i've never cleaned a car before and would appreciate any advice.

Don't use the Clean Wheels if you have alloys, it contains acid and will corrode the wheels over time. A good alternative for wheels is a citrus degreaser available from all good industrial cleaning suppliers. The degreaser contains no harsh solvents and is safe to use on wheels, bodywork, and interior surfaces and fabrics.

Another benefit is that it's usually supplied in five litre bottles which you dilute with water, so for around £9 you actually get around thirty litres depending on dilution ratio.

The High Def wax is okay, but it contains petroleum disstilate, try a wax from DoDo juice or R222, you'll save money over the High Def wax.

No point buying Extra Gloss Protection as well as High Definition Wax. Both are very good. I've tended to clean my wheels with a polish like Super Resin Polish before using a wheel wax like Autoglym Alloy Wheel Seal which is very good. Personally I'd buy:

AG Bodywork Shampoo.
AG Super Resin Polish.
AG Fast Glass.
AG Alloy Wheel Seal
AG High Definition Wax.
