Hi, I'm new to the forum and am after some advice... firstly apologies if this has posted twice but I tried once and it's not showing up on the lists.

I've seen a 1953 Fiat Topolino near where I live (in Ireland) and have a few questions. I've never owned a vintage car before and am in no way a mechanic...

1) The car's been fully refurbished apparently (just imported from America) but I think it's kind of pricey (euro 18000). What sort of value do these usually go for?
2) How easy are they to maintain, and how cheap/expensive? What's the build quality like in terms of body, electrics, engine etc?

I'd really appreciate any advice as I love the car but want to do a bit of research before I part with my money!

Thanks

Catt

Hello Catt, It is good to be weary on the old classics. But if its been restored to its former glory then the price will kind of increase. The older the car gets and if its stays immaculate then the price will be heavy! You need to find out how easy the parts are to get hold of, and other things like the engine, has that been restored?

If your buying this as an investment then I would seriously do alot of research into seeing if these are becoming popular. Then you will have a good investment and its always good to have a classic in your garage if you know what your doing. Then will be hundreds of classic enthusiasts that will know about these. Just do alot more research, like check for other Fiat Topolino's for sale and check their price. 18,000 Euros is what about £15,000? If so thats alot of money to part with, if I had that, it would be a more popular car like the classic beetle or splitty.. but thats my opinion. Good luck with everything... keep us informed!!
