Adrian Flux Insurance - Unbeatable Savings

Hi Tony

If you need the 500 covered up until 2.3.13 you will need to renew it on the 19.2.13 then we can look at the change of vehicle quote for you.

If you PM me your reference and contact number I will get someone to call you to discuss further.

Thanks

Dan

Dan, thanks for the reply but unless I can get a sensible quote for my Abarth 595 Turismo MTA it will be pointless renewing with AF if I then have to change insurance companies, it will be better to start from scratch with the new insurer.

I will attempt to get a confirmed quote once more from AF as soon as I am in the 30 day window and as long as it is competitive (not necessarily the cheapest) I will renew with AF.

I will PM you my details and would appreciate you passing it on to someone who is able to deal with this first hand.

Cheers

Tony

Hi

Thats no problem at all. We can refer to our whole panel of Insurers. Just PM me when you are ready and I will arrange for someone to call you and see what we have available.

Regards

Dan

Hi Dan, thanks for arranging the call back, also from a Dan. I am happier now that I have got some more answers but one thing I was concerned about was the fact that only the registered owner can drive other cars. I thought that both named drivers would be covered as a matter of course, I know this was the case with my other insurance company.

Whenever either one of us took the car into the dealers for a service a phone call to the insurance company letting them know the reg no/model of loan car was all that was necessary to be covered.

Don't be getting confused with DOC (drive other car) 3rd party, which is normally only policy holder is applies to, and extended cover for vehicles loaned to you by the motor trade which is normally fully comp.

Hi

It would be unusual for a named driver on a policy to have the 'driving other cars' benefit.

Loan or hire vehicles are not actually covered under this benefit either, only private cars that are not owned or registered to the Proposer are covered.

To cover a loan car we could offer a tempory additional policy. If ever you need a quote for this please feel free to PM me.

Thanks

Dan

Thanks Dan, I'll just have to use the dealership insurance in future. I also assumed, like Jon, that this was a standard cover as my previous insurer didn't charge any more for it.

Interesting that Flux don't include this as standard.

I guess this is why it is so hard to make direct comparisons when getting quotations for insurance, too many variables and they are not always obvious when reading through the policy.

Just to update the saga (pun intended) of trying to get my new car insured with AF. The dealership rang today and gave me a selection of registration numbers, so after picking the one I wanted I ran AF to give them the info, bearing in mind that they said that they couldn't give a firm quote until I did this.

I asked to speak to the guy that Dan (on the Forum) had put me in touch with and was told that he was busy and I would have to deal with someone else. I explained that this other Dan had all my details so could he ring me back when he was free. Sorry I was told, he couldn't do that as it was an incoming call centre only. So how did he ring me in the first place?:confused:

To cut a long story a little shorter I had to give all my details again plus the reg no and was left on hold whilst this was fed into the system. After 15 minutes the girl came back to me saying that they couldn't locate the registration. I explained that was not unexpected as the car hasn't been registered yet, but how does the reg no affect the cost, surely it isn't like go faster stripes that automatically add 10MPH to the top speed.

Anyway, she gave me a price which was approximately £16.00 more than my current renewal, so I expected to pay that amount as the difference, I had already been told that I would not be charged an admin fee. When I asked to pay the difference I was told it was £75.00 :confused::confused:

How so? the insurance was exactly the same, no changes so why the big difference? It was because the other dan had put the value of the A595 Turismo MTA at £13,000.00 and when I said it was closer to £20,000.00 the premium jumped. I then asked how they arrived at the first figure, surely the database must have values for new cars or how else do they give out quotes.

The answer was, ............... he must have guessed it. WTF! A bit like the quote I was given for renewing my existing policy for over £9,600.00.

I'm sorry Forum Dan that you have such a lot of unqualified personnel working for you that, in my case at least I have said enough is enough and have renewed with Saga (remember the pun remark in the first line) and the difference between the two is chalk and cheese.

I shall be ringing to cancel my policy with AF shortly.

Another annoying thing is that the lady said when going through all the details ... AGAIN was that both drivers were automatically covered to drive other vehicles, whereas the previous time I was told that only the policy holder was covered.

I hate to think what would happen if the non named driver was involved in an accident whilst driving another vehicle and had to claim.

Crikey. Assuming that all of their calls are recorded, if it went to court then they'd have to indemnify you I suppose. I do hope Dan looks into this and that this member of staff (as with others by the sounds of it) are retrained.

We are unaware of companies that give that benefit to anyone other than the policyholder, if the extention applies to the policy in the first place.

Dan

Dan, I agree wholeheartedly with MEP and Dave, the differing information given out by staff should be looked into. I feel disappointed with the service I have received, in particular not being able able to speak to the person you arranged to ring me previously. Why he was not allowed to ring me back is beyond me.

Also, can you explain to me how you get your valuation amounts for new cars, do you use a trade guide or some other reference data as I don't understand how the figure of £13,000.00 was arrived at?

It would be interesting to hear your evaluation of events if you were to listen to the recorded telephone calls I have made and the one that was made to me.

Possibly comission based staff, hence quote rekey meaning if sold this female would get the commission. Dan, are your staff commission based/driven out of interest?

Hi

If you could let me have your reference and contact number, I will look into this now for you.

Thanks

Dan

Hi Dan, I have PM'd you the details. Could you also tell me the best method of cancelling my policy?

Should I just telephone to cancel and then confirm in writing?

Do I need to include the certificate, bearing in mind that I was never sent a hard copy, just an email attachment?

If I cancel within 14 days by phone do you also have to receive the written notification within the same time period?

Is there a standard charge for cancelling within 14 days?

Cheers

Thanks in advance

Dan, thanks for arranging a call back. Have spoken to Tanya and sorted everything out re cancellation. It shows that when you get involved problems can be sorted out efficiently. It is a shame that I wasn't able to deal with just one person throughout, things might have been different.
