Ok i was looking at some of the Redex stuff from halfords, such as the petrol cleaner and the injector cleaner etc...

Dont bother wasting your money on redex, get Forte.

I used Redex in my 1.2 Bravo and and decreased the fuel economy for a while, knocked about 10mpg off, I wont be using it again. Is the forte stuff any good and how often would you recommend using it?

I just used the Forte fuel additive (diesel) and engine cleaner prior to a me doing a service.
I'm not usually one for placebo effect and am sure this has helped the car run smoother, start better and respond a little better. I thought it was good practice since my car is about to trip over 90k miles.
Fuel additive is supposed to assist your lines and injectors, Engine additive gets run through the crank on idle for 30 mins in my case and removes residues and harmful deposits. If you do use the forte stuff make sure you have a full tank of fuel and the oil is topped up so that you get the most coverage.

And dont forget, That any cleaner may, And i say may result in Blocked injectors (for a while anyway). So be prepared for your Injector light to come on, And im speaking from experience, I had it happen after i used fuel addative and injector cleaner, Had the light on for a few days, And ran like a three legged dog then cleared and all was well.

i use the diesel additive every 6k, and a good strong dose in the days preceeding the MOT
