General Adding Insulation to Reduce Road Noise

Just wondering if anyone has added any type of insulation in the door & side panels (or anywhere else) to reduce road noise on the 500's?

I'm thinking of removing the door panels to get to my speakers to laquer them (something I always do to my speakers to stop them disintegrating over time) I thought it might be useful to add insulation too.

there should already be some sound insulation inside the door panel, this needs to be cut to allow access to the window motors and for glass replacement

I used some stuff in February , not to reduce road noise per se, but to help with my speaker install

Great stuff, used a sheet and a half in each door skin inner, didn't interfere with windows at all, made the door "shut" more solid

I was doing both doors and also behind each rear seat side panel (which are a bugger to remove!!) , so I bought 2 packs of this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161242282437

£40 but £40 well spent, I only had 1.5 sheet left

They are the manufacturer and it's regarded as the best stuff

I'll try to use it all, and might even look at the spray on soundproofing (external for the floor) that I saw somewhere on the web.

Yeah, thank you. I don't have any problems stripping/replacing/modifying things. (i.e being a lifelong manufacturing machinist and formally educated electronics engineer).
I've had the rear panel off before when removing the B&M module.

There's a couple of good (speaker replacement guides) on the tube of you.

Good advice is to stick a drop of oil on the (machine screw/bolt) fixings as you replace cos you'll find some like the lower seatbelt bolt will be rusted in, but obviously the selftappers that go into plastic don't need it.

You'll find the speakers themselves are rubbish (riveted in too!) , so might be worth upgrading if you feel like it at the same time, I spent nearly £200 on four new 'Blam' drivers cos I'm in the audio trade and I like my music made sooo much difference.
