Accident and Body Shop

Hello

Sorry to post another thread about an accident. I was coming home from an interview in Cardiff yesterday. I was coming off the quite major roundabout on to a slip road and it therefore had two lanes coming off the roundabout. I was in the lane in the left and this van was in the lane of the right. As we turned off the roundabout he came across in to my lane, slammed all on but his back end still caught my right wheel arch.

it was a company van so I am going to ring up the guys manager today to see if he wants to do it through insurance or not. Hopefully they’ll except full responsibility.

So any recommendations for a good body shop in Sheffield or York? I am worried about getting the colour right as my car is Samba Orange

I just got a call from the other parties and insurance and theyve admitted fault. I havent reported the accident to my insurers yet, and the guy on the phone said if I deal with them directly and use of of their repair centres then it wont effect my no claims discount? Is that right?

it wont affect your ncb anyway if its their fault. use this service http://www.callfiatfirst.co.uk/ or you may get a dodgy repair

Thanks Dave, but since theyve already contacted me then I cant use that service. Which is pretty annoying

I believe you can still specify where you want the repairs to be carried out, instead of having to use their insurer's "approved repairer" (the one they have a deal with to get cheap work done).

Yeah I think you are right, but i am going to to leave it as it is i think as the damage isn't that bad. Im hoping the panel wont even need replacing and can just beat the dents out. If they do cock it up ill just kick up a fuss, i am good at that

you wont know if they have removed all the galvanizing until its too late though

Not sure I understand what you mean. Does that mean panel beating can remove galvinising?
