acceleration fault

Every now and again my bravo 1.6hlx gos into what I call go slow mode. Upon starting it and driving theres just no power when you put your foot down in any gear. The rev counter shoots up but the car just has no pull. 10 mins later I can start it up and everything is fine. Problem occurs maybe once every 2 weeks.

Anybody have any ideas.???

Any lights? Does the engine note rise with the rev counter?

no lights on the dash and the engine seems to rise but not excesivley. It runs a bit similar to when an injector went but like I said it only happens once every 2 or 3 weeks

This has occasionally happened to mine. Its only when the engine is cold tho. Once its warmed up its fine

If the rev counter goes up but the car does not get faster then its a slipping clutch.

Every once in a blue moon my 1.6 has a hickup, always going from 2nd to 3rd, usually the same stretch of road where it just looses all power but if you lift fully off the accelerator it remembers what to do and goes on its merry way.

if its doing it every 2 weeks its something to worry about.

Mine does it about 2-3 times a year.
