My marea 24td 125 hlx 1987 model one off the rear brakes is not getting fluid to it so i disconected the pipe from the abs pump blow air down the pipe fluid came out at the rear brake but when press the brake pedal the pump is not pumping any fluid to it check the rest off the pipes and when you press the pedal they all get fluid bar one so can the abs unit be stripped down and repaired or if I go to a breakers will any fiat pump do or will it need to be off a marea 24 td

thanks jay

sounds like the Valve has jammed in the unit, i havent heard of anyone trying to repair one but its not something that usually comes up.

You need to check which type of ABS unit you have so you know what to replace it with, there are Lucas, Kelsey-Hayes and Bosch units fitted into the Marea/Bravo/Brava/Coupe

Hi.

Correct 3 different types, check the engine bay.
My 1997, 1,6 16V is using Lucas module. Lucas.jpg

I had a problem 2 years ago, ABS light came on.
Lucas hasn't protected the 2 pump relays in the control box with an RC circuit, so the relay contacts burns and finaly melt together.
I replaced the relays and it worked again.
So if you purchase a Lucas at a scrappy, check the relays before installing it.

its the lucas one so any lucas one out off a marea, brava or bravo will do

In the newer models a more compact Lucas model 430 is used.
You need the Lucas "down sized", if yours are similar to the one on my picture.
