hello i am having 2 problem with my 1.9tdi 2001 multipla
1- engine stop working while driving ,
2- abs light always on ,
what should i do realy need help thx alot
Probably the first thing to do is give us a bit more detail on both faults.
i.e.
Did the engine restart after it stopped and run a while longer.
Did the radiator freeze up in this cold weather and then the engine over-heated?
Where there any other symptoms leading up to the engine stopping?
You get the idea.
The ABS light could be caused by the recent cold spell or did it start before that? Is the ABS light permanent or intermittent. The most common fault here is the connector underneath the drivers seat becoming o/c.
Tell us more or use the search feature at the top.
weather is not cold its about 14-20 c so thats not cold
car power off while driving , at idle rpm its work so good
some time engine turn off after speed 60km sometimes before
its doesnt matter when or where but it happen while driving
The throttle potentiometer is attached to the throttle pedal and signals the ECU as to how much the pedal is being depressed ( similar to fly-by-wire ) in the same way a cable to a carburettor works.
On early models - pre 2002 -the throttle pot. had a significant failure rate as I understand it.
Now this is just another avenue of exploration for you and by no means gospel!
It's a sealed unit and requires a new item, but remember that I am just making guesses. It would be better if you can get a diagnosis at a competent garage.

Hi, I had a 2000 Multipla which had the throttle potentiometer problem but got fixed under warranty, and knew someone else with the same problem. It does cause apparent power loss at random times, but the unit does need replacing if ti happens
