Technical About to decat (back pressure issue?)

What may be a cool modification now could cost you dearly for the rest of your life, and also destroy your family's life, as well as that of your victim, at the same time! Taking a life of anybody, let alone a child, with a fully insured vehicle will devastate you emotionally. Doing it with an uninsured vehicle will, if not you, kill your family.

Dude, chill! :)

Try not to stereotype people as much. Messing around with a car doesn't necessarily make a person an irresponsible idiot. People who drive irresponsibly are generally not people who have an interest in cars.

Also, please do not confuse the terms 'illegal' and 'immoral'. However, I do understand some of what you're saying - it's sometimes better for everyone if you do it by the book.
:D

Back on topic though, it would seem that a decat or sports cat is probably not a worth while upgrade to a Barchetta. The original back box is the main restriction, and anything beyond that may decrease back pressure too much. Sadly things are not as simple as I had thought, less restriction does not equal more BHP.

Agree, totally accepted and ..... I need to get a life.

Bloody hell I'm getting old and grumpy.

I think I need some to those F1 grid girls to put me in my place.

Now which one? Williams is cute, Ferrari is not so cute....

Engage Fiat Gear ...... miss Ferrari ... 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th.... and reverse. No contest!

Thanks guys for the votes supporting my insanity.

Even more insane now that our 'B' has a scape on the front bumper due to a badly parked lorry, on a curve and almost blocking passage. Last time this happend and my other half waited for 5 minutes, then single tooted the horn, then waited for another 5 minutes before tooting again followed by another few minutes to then be fed agressive abuse and later almost run down, she this time decided squeeze through. Sadly there was an un-notice projection (possibly one of those low light on side storks) that cut through the paint to bumper level.

Hopefully will be all sorted tomorrow. We would have done it ourselves but with getting ready for our annual trip to Fiat motherland Italy and pressures at work, and our first bumper repair we have decided to let a mobile "professional" do the job. We decided over £100 we would do, under £100 "they" could do.

Body repairs / paint jobs etc. is actually something most can do with practice and time on your side. The real important issues are down to prep, completely clearing and treating rust etc. Blowing paint onto a surface can be done, by most, with time, practice and rub downs. Doing it "out of the box" single pass is where the pros have a huge advantage but cost a huge price.

This time, time is not on our side, especially on a plastic bumper where skim 'fill' and paint would be a new string to our bow.

Least we'll get it sorted for less than £100 and will take the opportunity to watch and learn any different techniques involved to those involved with metal panel prep and spray which we are used to.
