General ? About square or round speedo

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum. I lived in Italy some 35 years ago when my father was stationed in Naples. I have been looking to purchase a classic 500. I prefer the look of the little round speedo, but can't figure out which cars were equipped with them. I originally thought it was the earlier cars, but have also seen the round speedo on cars built in 1975. Also, is this something that could be easily changed? Thanks for any guidance that you can provide.

The only model that had the rectangular speedo was the 500L all others had the round speedo
