General Abarth Uno Turbo Seals Problem

the turbo has not gone mate, if your car wont run then you've a problem somewhere, If it has a FSE boost valve then maybe it is set wrong,

will you describe whats wrong i.e blue, black white smoke when it did run etc?.

have you checked if there is spark? fuel in the tank?

Done a compression test?

if the smoke comes after the engine has been idling for a short time then its sounds like the valve stem seals could be causing the smoke

My 1st MK2 had the same problem, i had the valve stem seals and turbo re-coned at the same time and that stopped the problem

Na dude look at the tailgate and rear lights; it's a Mk1 with a transplanted Mk2 face on it, plus it's an F reg'.

Definetly a Mk1.

...they always look smart with Punto GT wheels on 'em =)

ok guys managed2 get the engine bay all clean, after the dump valve sprayed oil every where, after taking off the intercooler, i eneded up with a huge puddle of oil on the floor, i think oil has managd 2 lurk around the engine and get on the plugs, before the puff of blue smoke and the engine cutting out if i left it running it was ok and would not smoke until i put my foot down , it just lets blue smoke out when i boost up, and now it will stumble when it begins to start, then stall, turbo seals any 1? i have a spare turbo which has minimal movement left and right but no play back and forward is this ok ?

looks like it is a mk II after all (y)

unless you got a very lucky engine number...

There is no such thing as a "genuine" abarth Uno. Im sre the last real abarth was the strada?

Anyway, Fiat DID release an abarth bodykit for both versions of the Uno. The MK1 consisted of side skirts only. There is no abarth bumpers for the MK1. As for the MK2 there was also an abarth body kit which consisted of bumpers and side skirts. Incredibly rare and im sure I read there were only 3 Uno Turbos bought new in the UK with the Abarth kit fitted.

There are no engine upgrades to these "abarth" versions.

Yours is definatly not an abarth. It is an MK2 with an MK1 rear end conversion and the skirts are the standard kit im affraid. It has a few abarth bits and pieces on it but the wheels are just Punto GT3 alloy wheels. As for the seats, they are Seicento mk2 abarth head rests on the standard MK2 seats.

I think with the abarth stuff, alot of people dont realise wha a true abarth is. The non enthsiast fiat owners will just assume that its a bodykit and a few badges etc, not even the bodykit with most people.

Im fortunate to have a set of genuine MK1 abarth skirts :D No car to fit em to though :p

mk2 front end's been cut off and welded to the rest of a Mk1...
by pure luck, all the electrical connectors have merged together to make it work.

dude show us ya mk1 skirts please.

Pictures.. picccturrresss

looks like a mk2 if you ask me with a mk1 tailgate on..

Unless they have changed the front end to a mk2 which is a total load of effort and imo the mk1 looks far better...

And it deffo aint a abarth model, they never made one.... just wanna be's sticking stickers on... lol (y)

it is a mk1 with a mk2 front end. Its was on ebay a while back, i remember seeing it and thinking how F'd up it looked
