For some reason the forum doesn't seem to be letting me start this new thread... Here goes anyway.

Hello! I'm Jim, from Northampton. I currently drive an Abarth 595 but not for much longer, due to running costs and lots of unexpected changes in my life the Abarth will consume way more money of mine that I'd like. Which generally I don't have a problem with, though I will be moving soon and I'll be doing a LOT more travelling than initially anticipated. I got my 595 back in December brand new, it's done 7000miles but I've chopped it in against the new Fiat 500 Lounge 1.2 in Avantgarde Bordeaux Metallic I think it's called?
Easily my favourite colour in the 2016 range. I'll be recieving the new car at the end of the month, I am of course gutted to at least half the power I'm running at the moment and settle for something not so sporty, but the glass roof and 5" touch will make up for it a little as the Abarth is quite basic.
On the plus side I should be taking the Eibach springs from my Abarth and swapping them to the 500 providing they fit, I believe they're only about a 20-25mm drop but will suffice until I can afford to get some further lowering springs. I plan on doing some little mods to begin with then I'll focus on it more later in the year, but for now are there any little mods that you guys can suggest that would be handy upon delivery of the car? Literally anything at all! I hope to get involved with the Midlands Italia lot as well in the future.

Nice to meet you all!

Jim

Didn't enjoy it when I drove it initially unfortunately!

That's fair enough, they're not everyone's bag but I just thought coming from the 595 it might have been less of come down! The twins are very tight and grumbly when new and I suspect this puts a few potential owners off when they test drive. You'll definitely get much better economy in the 1.2 over the 595 and they seem to have ironed out the earlier euro 6 issues so it's a sensible buy if low running costs are what you're after. Like that colour too, enjoy.

I tried one when I initially bought the Abarth, but hated it. I'm unsure as to why, maybe I was quick to judge, I'm unsure. But either way thanks very much, I look forward to learning some stuff here :)
