This mp3 player works very correctly, I mean as well as the CD player does. This mean :
- no pause (just stop)
- no fast forward or reward
- display of tracks/discs names are limited to 8 or 10 characters (not enough)
also :
- the mp3 conversion sounds correct
- if the mp3 ID Tags are filled, the player displays them. If not that's the DOS name of the files that are displayed (8.3 format)
- access speed to tracks is pretty slow
- of course you almost can't use navigation system when listening to a mp3-CD (as the multi player does not accept this)
Use this with a normal mp3 CD : it's a data CD with folders (for example corresponding to the artists names) and mp3 files (at any bitrates) in these folders. If you're not familiar to this, try to crate mp3 compilations on CD-RW CDs (the player accepts them), so you can check if you've done everything correctly.
Ugh... mp3 conversion allows compression of audio-files up to 20 times with "correct" audio quality (64 kbits/s). And the best is not to compress more than 10 times (128 kbits/s). This means that you can store up to 1600 min of audio on a 700 MB CD, this corresponds to 400 songs of 4 min average... not 10000 !!!
