Has anyone with an Abarth got a dash board rattle. It seems more passenger side but whatever you touch or poke it dosent change the rattle so must be behind the dash. Its in with the dealers in a couple of weeks to get it sorted but if anyone else has already had the problem I might be able to help him with a few clues.

Also wind noise seems excessive at illegal speeds on the drivers side, anyone else experienced it ??

My dash doesn't rattle, but my window makes a rattling noise every now and again. Re: the wind noise, are you sure its not the turbo whistling :p ;)

Dashboard rattle - yes - but I think on mine its the well known dual plastic skin of the passenger side undertray. I also get various rattles and creaks from the boot and back of the car after only 2000 miles.

No problems with wind noise even above 70mph

Sounds like a window seal by the sounds of it. The window on the wifes Subaru sometimes doesn't go up quite as far as it should do and with it having frameless windows it makes a huge noise if the window is open just the right amount. Does lowering the window and then raising it again help?

My Abarth has an annoying window, only does it sometimes but it's like the drivers side window is rubbing (on a bumpy road) it makes a rattle type sound. There are a few other rattles/creaks etc but i try not to let them annoy me, tis still a Fiat at the end of the day, and a bloody good one! Wind noise gets bad between 100 and 120 MPH, but round here I've not hit top speed yet (too bendy)

Thanks & keep the ideas coming

Wind noise def not the turbo, swapping between drivers & passengers seat we both noticed its louder on the right hand side, Im fairly certain its not the glass seal to the door, more likely to be the door seal to the body, it seems to be behind you so its not mirror related

Stuart, try using wide masking tape to seal the gap between door and body and see if noise disappears. (obviously you will then have to use the passenger door to get into the car afterwards, lol). If so, gradually remove parts of the tape until the noise re-appears so you know exactly which section is the culprit.

If it is the door seal then you may be able to tap the area that the seal is fixed to with a rubber mallet to move it slightly outwards making the seal a tighter fit to the door. This is preferable to trying to bend the door frame inwards to achieve the same effect.

Thanks & probably the way I would go if it wasnt new but this is up to the stealer initially. They appear to be making thev right noises & want the car for 2 days to sort it all & a free loaner to cover the time

Very true, I got hold of the wrong end of the stick I guess and thought it was something that it had already been back for but wasn't remedied. Hope it gets sorted OK!
