Is there anyone able to loan me a set of wheels and tyres for a week in the midlands area? I of course will pay a little sum of money for the priveldge. Today I went to get my Alloys refurbished; the guys in the garage had ordered wobble bolts and hoped that this would allow me to borrow a set of slave wheels for the week whilst they got done. However no matter what wheels we tried we couldn't get it to work. Now they're looking out for wheels though, as the offset is rare, they don't want to pay out on them when they will have to waste storage space and money on them. They offered to knock £20 off the price for me but I'd have to lose my car for a week which isn't a possibility right now. Extremely gutted.

I've got a set of steelies with winter tyres on... just don't go too fast on them because they are softer compound for the cold weather and will fade around corners on warm days.

If you want them, you are welcome to come over and bolt them on. I have electric and air wrenches, breaker bars and a car lift so we will have them off in no time at all.

Let me know if you want to go ahead! Our lock up is in the Uttoxeter area.

Mate you life saver
Uttoxeter is a little further than I expected, so will need to plan for the journey to get to you. I'm having a holiday mid month so if we provisionally plan for saturday or Sunday at the end of the month would that be ok? (28th/29th) That way I can plan to get my alloys refurbed on the first Monday of July and get your alloys back to you for the following weekend.

We wouldn't even need to put them on the car. I'll just bring them back with me in the back of the car, That way I only waste my own tread on the car for the journey there and back. I'll get the garage to swap them for me when I drop my alloys off, and swap em again when they come back.

If you wanna PM me what you would like me to give, pay or do for you in return.

Alternatively, I can bring the steelies to my home (Rugeley). Only issue is we live on a hill so changing the wheels won;t be possible.

But that might be better for you because you can take the steels in the back of the car, change them at the alloy refurb shop etc?

I don't mind either way.. all I'm thinking is it's 22 miles instead of 34 miles for you. Honestly won't make any difference to me as they will just be at my house.

Closer is better buddy but I'll do whichever is easier for you rather than the other way round. As you are the one helping me out. And yeh I'll bring them back in the boot change them at the refurb shop. Then change them again when I pick up the refurbs. They'd only be used for about 30 mile all together in the week, and that would be the commute to work and back on town roads. The journey to and from you would be done on my tyres. :)

It's cool I will take them to my house. Just let me know what day and I'll put them in the back of my car :)

Did you ever get your gearbox sorted Matthew?
Fantastic. I'll do it the last Sunday of the month my friend. I've contacted the garage to make sure they can get it done in a week so I can get them back to you the weekend after. They've assured me they can. I'll definitely owe you a pint or 6 :)

And yes I had the oil changed in it and have had no issues since. The whirring noise is from the cheap tyres that were on the car before I believe. No such noises now I have the Dunlop's BluResponse sports. A lot less clunky with the new oil too. Being as I only have the 120 t-jet I shouldn't really have issues with it.

Good lad I'm really pleased to hear it.

What oil did you buy? I need to purchase and replace it myself as I am upping the power somewhat on my 120...
Had it done by a vauxhall garage that put the stuff they use in the VXR's whilst I had my service and MOT. I'm sure someone shared a link with me where to get the best stuff yourself. Give me 5 minutes I'll try to find it for you

EDIT:
This is the stuff mate http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tutela-Tr...M&hash=item33824f5166&clk_rvr_id=644936250752

Was told it's 1.86 litres of the stuff. Unless you want to just fill it to the level plug. Which as long as you're on a flat surface should be fine. I was warned by the garage that the stuff that comes out the gearbox is smelly... Really smelly. Lol

Autolusso suggest; Fuchs TITAN SINTOFLUID SAE 75W-80 Manual Transmission Fluid MTF 75W80

So I think I'm going to go with that unless you suggest otherwise?
Did just edit my last post. That was what I was recommended to use by another user on the forums, though I couldn't say what is actually in my gearbox now.

Hmmm, 1.86 litres....

It says on Autolussos website you need 2.3 litres...

I'd like to avoid buying 3 bottles if I can, but I dunno!
This is why i hate the internet, always different opinions and instructions. I asked all this In a thread a few months ago. That's where I was recommended to buy that stuff. I'd have a read through the thread see if you can work it out better than me. As we have the same engines anything you can do I can do too haha
