Technical a noise

Technical a noise

Sometimes the belt can rub on the plastic cover. That'll give you your regular around 1/10 engine rpm noise

One that really got me was the lettering on the back of a new belt makes a noise as it runs across the tensioner as its the back of the belt that runs on the tensioner. It was only the fact that the noise was regular and engine rpm related but at a much slower speed to engine rpm

A lot of people complain of a noise, regular but slower than engine rpm after a new cambelt has been fitted and it's just the belt lettering going around

recorded the sound on the iPhone... now cant get it off onto the pc. bugger.

however today i went to a different Fiat place, its just a service place, not a dealer but they do fiat warranty work.

anyways their tech jumped in the car whilst it was warm and agreed he could hear the noise and that it shouldnt be there. he certain its not the clutch or the turbo but without looking at it further has no other idea.

he was made up that i had the 150 sport though and i dont know if its BS or not but he said not many bravos come in for warranty. he said its mainly grande puntos and stilos

Just a thought - do you do a lot of low speed driving?

Reason I ask is I sometimes get a slight rubbing sound when the engine has warmed up, but only when driving around town. If I give it a quick blast on the bypass the noise disappears for the rest of the journey.

Used to have something similar on a Focus I had once, but it never turned into anything more serious.
