A newbie needs advice! please.....

Hi, i own a 10' plate panda from new.... although i know they do not have tappits as such, that is the type of noise it makes, i have compared it with an identical car and that one does not make the same noise.
Does any one else's make that noise, or is it a characteristic?
i have taken it back to the dealer three times (which is annoying) and on the last visit stated there was a coolant leak which was promptly corrected.... but the noise is still there. :bang:
can anyone give me advice.... please? :worship:

Hi Eagleeyes and welcome to the forum. :wave:

I assume that when you mention the tappets you are referring to hydraulic as opposed to adjustable valve clearance types. Although
a hydraulic tappet is less likely to make a noise they can still fail on occasions so a couple of questions to help determine if this is the case.

Does the noise appear to be at about half of the engine speed?

If you put a long screwdriver to your ear and move the blade along the top of the rocker/valve cover does it appear noisier in one place than others?

I would certainly visit the Panda section and have a search through the posts but if you don't find a definitive answer start a new thread giving as many details as possible and I'm sure you will get an answer almost immediately as they are a very helpful bunch.
