Ok so this is my problem (one of),

THE CAR WONT START!!!!

it just wont make up its mind, i try it it starts, i try it again it doesn't.

Like wednesday wouldnt start until about the 10th attempt(all day not just when cold) yesturday not a problem!

So today it was in the garage (warranty) they say its to do with the KEY! the KEY?

The starter turns but the engine doesnt engage!

Can anyone tell me whats wrong? (and dont say its a fiat)

1) what model, age and milage is the car? Its hard to give advice when you don't know what car it is.

2) 'doesn't start' is a very generic term. In what way wouldn't it start?

Untitled

Does it have an immobiliser? Only way the key could be the problem.

i'm not 100% how the fiat immobiliser works. the citreons that had the keypad used to turnover without firing if you didnt put the code in so the fiat one may do this also.

does the orange key picture do anything when it wont start? i think if its an immobiliser fault the orange key flashes on the dash.

As for imoby no I dont think so, at least not that I am aware of! (how dumb is that)

Re: Untitled

It wont be immobiliser since the starter motor turns, if the immobiliser is on the starter wont turn over. So we can rule that one out.

My bravo wont turn over if the immobiliser is on. Had to test it.

It will just turn over (horrible chug chug sound)until I stop

did they plug it into a computer at the garage or just guess?

Joske, how did you test it?

The fiat transponder immob only stops the fuel/spark and NOT the starter.

Could be your fuel pump being on its way out. My bro had a similar problem on his car, but his was a carb and bravos are injected and dunno if theres a difference or not. Although his used to cut out on journeys too.

Re: Untitled

All bravos have a cat 2 transponder immobiliser. There is a yellow light on the dash that looks like a key. Does it come on and then go off again when you turn the key?

Wasn't that good of a garage!

Ok just went outside the only lights that stay on are, Battery, oil can thingy and the handbrake.

are those lights when it is or isn't working? try looking next time it won't start

Both - there is no difference with the lights

Yeah the orange key light goes off

does it sound like its turning over normally just not firing or does it make other noises too?

i'd take it to a fiat garage and have it put on the diagnosis machine if it was me. costs about £30 i think. atleast it'll show anything with the computer

Well, at least it shows the immob is talking to the key. Still could be a faulty immob though.

How many keys do you have and do you have and do you have the red one?

2 blue 1 red

When it doesn't start, it does sound worse, as I say it "chu chu chu chu's"
