Busy day for Gaz, that'll be a new engine then, not too much stuff to swap over. It got so hot quickly that it melted the Turbo seals thus oil started to pump through, engine then started to scream its tits off running on its own oil. Couldn't stall it as it was an auto, something had to give. Fortunately pulling the key out of the ignition managed to shut it down, just:eek:.

does revving an auto with foot brake on not stall it? do they use centrifugal clutches?

It would have shagged the Torque converter and maybe the gear box as it is a standard auto. It revved pass the redline, in fact the rev counter needle on the guage hit the little pin that the needle sits on when the ignition is off, gives some idea how high it revved. We guess around 9000rpm(Ish) The HiScan (Kia scanner) didn't show the rpm to confirm this, but judging by the noise and smoke and putting the car from neutral to gear at that engine speed would have damaged the autobox as well. Also with Sedona staring a my Snap On stack, I wasn't about to try it either.

It does have centifugal clutches inside the box, an Under Drive, Reverse and Over Drive, but these are inside the main casing. You can just see the HUGE torque converter behind the gear box, weighs a tonne.

I found all the water, it was in the sump, nice.
