A hello from a newbie

Got another X1/9 at the weekend. Must have been 15 years since my last one! It's not rotten, everything works and it didn't cost a packet. Brilliant!

Anyway, as usual, a few questions:

Shocks, could do with some new ones, what's the opinion on what to go for? Any uprated/lowered?
Pads, Anything like EBC Greenstuff that fit? IIRC the last one I had had Mintex pads
Engine is rough until it warms up and has zero power,OK at the time it was raining and cold, what's the dizzy & plugs etc like for waterproofness.

Found a site CASCU, are they OK to deal with? Parts seem reallly cheap especially after my Lotus.
