I’ve owned a few Fiats over the years (Panda, X19, Seicento, Doblo) but not for 10 years or so. But, my son has just turned 17 so we’ve found him a Seicento as a first car for when he passes his test and to teach him a bit of DIY.

It’s a 2003 Active Sport, and has a full service history and clear MOT. It’s a bit scruffy on the bodywork but no rust.

I want to get it insured in my name for now, so does anyone have advice for insuring a second car at a reasonable price? I’ve used a classic policy in the past, so that might be a possibility?

Daughter did it as a stand alone as it was more expensive to put it on mine or wife’s
Think it was Hastings but I’ll check

It was Hastings (£700) then they doubled it on renewal, so she’s with Central…now she’s passed, and can drive car all on her lonesome, they’ve put it up by £600, so come renewal she’s looking elsewhere (that means ‘I’m looking elsewhere’) and that’s on a 2009 multijet cross

Thank you, that’s helpful. I’ll investigate and see what it would cost in his name with me as named driver.

Just to complicate the issue my wife, who has an automatic license, has decided that she might like to learn to drive a manual!

Hi.
Please feel free to give us a try for insurance if you haven't done so already.
Regards,
Dan.
