Got pulled over tonight on the way home and I'm one lucky fella!
Driving home there is a sweet bit of bypass,dual carrigeway for a one mile stretch, an open roundabout then another 3/4 mile stretch before a second roundabout and some 60 mph single carrigeway.
I was tanking towards the open roundabout doing 1xx mph, slowed on approach and checked the junction to the right (it's closed to the left) swept round the roundabout at 70 (just a little jink required) and accelerated away.
I passed a couple of cars and slowed for the next roundabout, followed a clio round then went by, this bit of road is single but fast (A22) came up to an mpv and followed it waiting for a passing moment, which i got between two bends.
All good so far.
Noticed another car had come round the MPV and backed off incase it was the police and bugger me it was :/
drove for 2-3 miles at speed limit +/- then got blue lighted.
All i could think of was the 1xx speed, got out of the car and got the following:-
'you know why we've pulled you over, I know exactly how fast you were going, you know how fast
'It's not your speed I'm bothered about, the road isn't that busy, had it been busier it would be more important
'it's more that last overtaking move, bit tight wasn't it?'
so i go yes, sorry etc...
and get:-
'If you want to drive that fast wait until later, maybe like 10 o'clock'
(!?!?!?!) NFW
He then went on to say thats an HGT isn't it (I'm debagged), and asked what i'd done to it. had a look at my nitrous and asked what it was putting out!?!?!
Guy was obviously a car nut!
Man I've never driven so legally as I did for the last 20 miles home
