Hi All.

Have not been on in a while as have strayed from the Fiat Family :(

Looking at a 96 Bravo 1.8GT as have a company van now and want something fun to drive at weekends?

The car has 76k miles on it and looks clean, anything I should look at while doing the test drive?

Thanks in advance,

Paul.

Hi Paul, I have a 1.8 its a fun car indeed. :D

There should be a four digit code to re-sync the remote central locking and factory alarm to the blue key buttons. that is always handy to have. And there is a small key to turn the alarm of if it ever goes wonkey.

Seems a lot of us have had to replace brake pipes this year, if they have not been done they might be due.

Check every headlight function works on the stalks, if it does not work as expected you might have to replace the entire stalk unit.

Check the rear of the sills from underneath, where the black plastic spats are. Push the metal to see if its soft. If it needs doing it might not be too expencive depending on how bad ofcouse but one less suprise again.

Check the rear seat belt anchoring points on the rear arches. One of mine was rotten but I think it was a oddity with my car, the other side was fine.

This is after a repair you can see the seat belt bolt in the arch. Check the arch from outisde under the rear wheel well and from inside by lifting the rear seat bottoms up.

The door handles will most certainly be rotten. If you dont like they way they look you could renew them or change them fore Marea, Alfa 147 or the new Fiat 500 door handles.
