'93 Fire IE help

Heya guys - just bought myself a nice '93 Fire 1.0 but I know little about these cars (well, any cars really) and have a quick question. I notice a lot of positive pressure coming from the fuel tank when I take off the cap, and I'm wondering if that's normal. It seems to use a little more fuel than I expected too. The speakers suck too - any good replacements that suit it?

Pressure builds up in the petrol tank and is released when you remove the petrol cap, so that sounds normal enough. When you say it's using more fuel than you expected, what sort of MPG are you getting?

yup the standard speakers are s**t... ive got a 1992 IE and my economy is roughly a little lessthan a diesel. i used quater of the tank (about £20 worth of petrol) driving from london to peterborough the other day. Its about 130miles. I used half of the tank on the way back tho...

Ive got a pair of 6x9s on the rear parcel shelf and i have just disconnected the front speaks... i think they are 4' so should be easy to replace with a pair of kenwoods or something from halfords.

yeah 4" speaker sill fit but it can be a pain in the arse to fit.
my tanmk of petrol used to lasrt me about 200 miles on a average week
