Hello Everyone,

Does anyone have experience with 80w Cree Led for the fog lights?

And does anyone know what the light output is of the LED compared to a normal halogen/xenon look bulb for the fogs

I don't think the projector type fog lights on mk2 and mk2b cars will be able to make the best use of these as they have multiple small LEDs the light becomes very uneven

The mk2b's are scatter len's though?
They dont as such produce a beam pattern except a nice curve on the floor

tbh with how little we have fog, and often people drive with them on for days after

Is it worth while sticking decent bulbs in?

LED's are a pure white = great
but often then dont have the light output in lumens to match a halogen bulb
There getting better, but not quiet as powerful
They do save on the juice ALOT though

Ziggy

With the uneven nature of the LED lights combined with the lenses of the mk2b fogs you might find there is an absolutely terrible output, I'd forgotten they had the weird scatter patten to them (probably because as you point out, it's rare that you use them)

Lots of car manufactures are dropping the hid lights in favour of LEDs or in some cases laser lights and other more modern technology, they are very much brighter than the old halogen lights and even hid lights but only when built into speciality design and new types of head light units

So it looks like the LED lights are not suitable for the projector lens of the punto. Too bad, I think i will stay with the normal lights then(y)

Thanks
