Hi I have a 62 plate ducato which I’m struggling to sort.

I’ve put a new engine in the vehicle and I keep getting the fault code p0335 rpm sensor and it struggles to start.

I’ve put in a new cank sensor and have checked the pick up with the snap on scope and looks to be ok. I’ve checked all the wiring down to the sensor for shielding and check the wires for breaks but all ok.

On a previous thread I saw to check the throttle flap but that seems to ok as well so I’m pretty stumped.

So any advice/help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks the lost mechanic 🤣

Welcome to the forum.

Does the engine run OK once started, or does it fire then fail to run? If the former, then despite the fault code, it may be worth investigating the camshaft sensor with your scope. Something to eliminate.

once it runs its fine, just doesn’t show rpm on the dash and throws on the engine light. I’ve checked the cam sensor earlier but that also seems to be fine
