Technical 5th gear nut equivalence ? MG5T gearbox

Hello all

Renewing my Ducato 230 2.8tdi MG5T gearbox , i had to cut the mainshaft nut to desasemble
Fiat ref : 9607060988

The problem is that Fiat don't sell it anymore and ebay is at gold price

If someone knows an equivalence ?

i have cut the nut off the main shaft twice as they are impossible to undo, but have found a wheel nuts for some trailer hubs are the same thread and have used them with no problem, cost me around a pound, i don't like wasting my money, robin

True but it depends on how badly the part is needed and if you can find it elsewhere cheaper, as the op did

For those in need the nut is M24 x 1.5.
