Hi all,

My 68 plate Fiat 500X check engine light comes on, display says "auto start/stop disconnected", starts to judder, then goes into limp mode and speed starts declining. If I pull over and restart the engine it drives ok but check engine light remains on though.
After a few days this went off and all issues were gone! But then after every now and then it comes back on again, same issues.
I took it for diagnostics test, one garage gave me 2 codes, B106D-86 & B1460-01 but they didn't know what the codes meant and suggested I go to auto electrician. I went to auto electrician and they couldn't find any issues at all.
I wondered if anyone else had this same issue, before I have to take it to a main dealer.

Would the auto electricians I've taken my car to not have already checked all these things?
I don't have diagnostic equipment do to this myself nor am I qualified.

I can't really answer this.

The info I gave are cribs / extracts from the Fiat official eLearn/KeyLEARN from 2015/16 era. Dealers would certainly have access to this info. An auto electrician / independent garage may have access to official Fiat data or what is more common is that other diagnostic manufacturers and maintenance publishers create their own which may or may not be based on Fiat's.

In the old days Haynes manuals, Porter manuals, others were heavily based on Fiat Workshop Manuals. Some even used the same pictures etc. Those days are generally long gone so with modern cars the manufacturers are going Web / Server based.

What particular business to business to Fiat etc. contracts they have and pay for I don't know and is "their" agreements etc.
