The central locking on my 2015 500x will not lock the doors either with the fob or when pressing the driver's door internal lock. When the fob is pressed you can hear a faint click at each of the doors but the locks don't operate. I've checked Fuse 38 and it's ok. The boot lock still works. The car has the keyless entry system and the local Fiat garage has just replaced the driver's door handle as they said there was an error code showing this was faulty, but it hasn't solved the problem. Any ideas?

Generally there are two potential causes for any central locking system failing to work:

1) Broken wire(s) in a door jamb. Usually the most frequently used door (drivers)

2) Sticking lock mechanism and ANY of the two/four passenger compartment doors

Boot and fuel cap central locking is not normally connected to the door locking ring.

I would try the following:

a) Use the passenger door internal lock switch. Often this will result in all the doors noisily attempting to lock and then releasing due to the fault.

b) Lubricate all the door lock mechanisms (just need to open door and spray into the lock catch mechanism). Open and close each door several times to operate shake the mechanisms up.

Update.....
Unfortunately the above suggestions didn't work so the car went to a specialist who identified a blown circuit board... which they were able to repair (rather than having to get a new one which would have cost >£600).
Thanks for your anyway.
