Hey all,
So my sisters car (Fiat 500x 1.4 MultiAir 2015) has been having some troubles with the lighting. The typical parking lights blowing all the time. Thought there was no issues as it's just a blown bulb. Every month or so it seems to blow them both out again. This time the sidelights + parking lights seem to go also.
The car also randomly will die. Sometimes twice/three times in a day. I carried out a oil change the other day and the car died within 20minutes despite being driven all day?
Some other issues of concern:
Yesterday, if I indicated right, the stalk went back to the middle when the steering wheel was straight ahead but for some reason it activated my left indicator for a few seconds despite not touching it?
Another random issue which is hard to purposely make it happen:
The lights will stay on even after ignition out, or if the dial if on the off position, sometimes they stay on until you turn the car off and on again.
Also, on the dial for the lights, it does not click into the "side lights" position. It will turn to it but then return to the centre? Is this normal? I tested on a 2016 Fiat 500x and it fully turns to the left but unsure as this is a year newer or if things changed with the year difference?
With this being said, I plugged my scanner in and the only faults I have are:
BCM:
B1022-15 Wiper Delay Time - Circuit Short to Battery Or Open
B1023-15 Day Time Running & Parking Light Right - Circuit Short To Battery Or Open (Blown bulbs)
ETM:
B210-A16 - System Voltage Low - Circuit Voltage Below Threshold
U0422-86 - Invalid Data Received From Body Control Module - Signal Invalid
The vehicle has a new battery from 2nd February 2025. This is the one from Halfords -- Yuasa EFB027.
I have fitted a brand new Earth strap from Fiat just to make sure this wasn't an issue (There was heavy corrosion on the bottom half of this strap.)
Here is my battery test results after the car has sat for roughly an hour:
With this battery test, it's to my understanding that the BCM inside the Fiat's are sensitive and 9.00v on cranking / startup is way too low.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do from here or if you experienced the same issue and fixed it?
