General  500L ordered

Hop you like it. We've had ours for about a month (apparently the first one registered in the UK!). Very happy with it.
You are lucky wei our initiated order for 500l Twinair Lounge with extras december 2012, still waiting! On our 3rd sales exec, confusion of ordered extras. build was completed three weeks ago in Turin?? waiting to be loaded on theboat, last week the boat was nearly at UK port, however it seems our car is at the back of the boat, so it will be 7 to 10 days after the boat docks to get the car to Doncaster. My wife is ready to do murder but its fortunate I am a patient saint or stoneacre would be short some staff.

Sounds like the dealer didn't order the car [properly] in the first place, how inept can you get? What are they there for if they can't order cars?

Turin!? Car is built in Serbia, won't be going anywhere near Turin.

I ordered my 500L TwinAir lounge 23rd Feb and got it just over a week ago! Took less than a week from Status 40 to handover.

These crap dealers do FIAT no favours whatsoever :bang:

500L, how are you finding the twin-air? I used to have the 500 in twin-air form, and I loved it - I'd be interested how it transfers across to the 500L. The 1.4 is, as expected, adequate under most circumstances, though you do have to change down a couple of cogs if you don't want to get embarrassed climbing some hills! Economy on the other hand, is a little better than expected - 40mpg is easily achievable on a regular basis, increasing by 5 or so on less stop-start stuff.

One word sprung out to me as being the likely problem here. Stoneacre.

Now, I don't know the Fiat logistics system back to front but a car being at the back of the boat should surely not be affecting things that much?! I reckon they're leading you a merry dance to cover for the failings of the order being handled by 3 different sales executives.

Probably too late to take your order elsewhere, but worth having another think when it comes to servicing or warranty work. Not expecting someone to know this if they're new to Fiat, but Yorkshire has much better dealers than Stoneacre. Not seen a huge number of positive comments regarding them on here. It's probably worth a bit of a drive to somewhere like Piccadilly in Wakefield for aftersales. They've been a Fiat dealer for a lonnnnng time and I'm fairly sure they only deal with Fiat, Alfa Romeo & Kia (unlike Stoneacre who look after multiple brands across a number of sites), so they should have a better knowledge of Fiat.

Best of luck that the car turns up soon.

I'm with jtd Liam.

Bought mine from Piccadilly Knaresborough. About 45 minutes from home.

Pretty good overall.

Bought my bravo there too. I try not to order elsewhere as would be an unknown luckily I got them down on price so I could order from them.

Great service dept run by a bloke called Jono . Servicing full list price though.

You are being led a merry dance.
They don't know where it is on the boat starboard whatever. It will only be on the boat for a couple of hours anyway it isn't going on a boat the whole way around Europe from West of landlocked Serbia.

No wonder it's taking so long if it's going via Turin, shouldn't be going there.

Etc.

Load of bullocks.

Hope you get it soon hope its worth the hassle.:)

Hi Everyone, I ordered mine 4 weeks ago on Tuesday and I am beyond excited! What I would like to know is, what is the radio like? How does it work with iPods/iPhones? I forgot to check it out after my test drive.

Thanks

Hi Tea4Two! Well I have to say the Stereo is pretty good - especially if you ordered the Beats Audio upgrade (or got it free, if you pre-ordered). I use the system both in ipod/usb mode and bluetooth using my Samsung Galaxy S3. It is also possible to steam from Spotify!

Controls are generally well thought out, with all your commonly used functions duplicated on the wheel. Relevant information is displayed on the main touch screen like Artist, title etc. One peculiarity is that the info can get out-of-sync with what's playing when connected via bluetooth - not a major problem, but strange all the same!

FM reception seems pretty good, no doubt enhanced by the high roofline!

Sound quality is pretty good to be honest. The sub-woofer does not dominate proceedings (unless you turn up the bass) which is a good thing - though it will give a pleasing wallop when needed! Everything else is as it should be - plenty of clarity, so that you can easily pick out voices over any roads noise (which is pretty well controlled anyway). I think the sound is definitely better up front than for the rear passengers, but this is probably to be expected.

I have noticed the occasional glitch in the audio. Reading up about this, it seems to be quite a common complaint, and seems to be related to the audio being piped around the cars CAN bus system. It appears that other systems can interrupt the audio from time to time. It doesn't seem to happen that often (mainly immediately after starting the car) , but I'll be keeping an eye on it!

Thank you for your reply :)
I didn't get the Beats, I just upgraded to DAB.
Aww it sounds really good, definitely something I'll be happy with. I want it now! I'm so impatient.

Tea4Two - I'm sure you think the wait was worth it when it finally arrives. It's a nice car, that definitely grows on you the more you live with it!

I thought I might have made a mistake going for the 1.4, but even this misgiving has been proved groundless. Very happy so far!

Well, I have just picked up my car this evening and I love it! Though, I may regret the colour.. It's going to take some keeping clean ?I'm also worried about the interior.. Cream material! Looks fab but for how long?! Eek! Luckily I do not have children.

Bashment Blue (wicked name) looks very much like ChaChaCha Azure. Nice (y)

Try & post some pics of the car in the members area so it appears at the top of the 500L section - a few people seem to have taken delivery of different variants but we're still only on the one example with photos :(

I don't think I could find the section you refer to.. But I did a search and added a pic to one of the threads. I'm new to all this forum lark ??

Hi Tea4Two,

He means create a thread for your car here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/

Make sure you select the Prefix as 500L, then the thread will appear at the top of the 500L section.

Prefix is selected to the left of where you type a Title for the thread.

Also, upload the photos to the forum rather than linking from elsewhere; guess that's why simrae's doesn't show at the top of the 500L forum.

HTH.
