Hi All! new here and would like some help please/advice...
My 500e went into Fiat to have the infotainment screen looked at and they are saying I need a whole new screen, it is out of warranty and they are saying it will be in the region of £1k just for the parts then labor (I have already spent £468 on getting them to diagnose the problem)
Has anyone else had issues with needing to replace the infotainment screen and can it be done yourself? As in purchase a second hand one and have it fitted? Or is this something that can only be done at a dealership with the correct software etc.
My husband has tried to purchase a plug in diagnostic tool for the car previously and has been told that they don't exist and any issues with Fiats have to be diagnosed and dealt with at a dealership? Is this correct?
Any help or advice from anyone who has replaced their screen would be much appreciated, we are not sure you see if the screen has its own brain (ECU) or if its simply a touch screen?
Thanks
